Graduation cake by SpoonyBakesCake Graduation cake by SpoonyBakesCake
the babies of my household are graduating elementary school! So I made this for their graduation pool party, along with 2 dozen matching cupcakes.

this is my first time ever drawing cheetah print. I think it turned out pretty good :3

This is amazing! I really wish i was able to bake like you - maybe i dont have the right tools or something but the cake always crumbles and messes up before I try to frost! And its so hard to spread the frosting evenly across >.< Maybe i just need some practice :) And ill probably stick to making miniature cakes for now lolol

Anyways, this is really nice and congrats to your kids! I really like the cheetah print on this :) I like that you painted the the effect! Many bakeries tend to form the cheetah print with fondant on top of the base color and then roll it out to put the fondants together and give it that effect :)

Thanks!! I started out with no tools at all and my first fondant cake ever was simple polka dots. Over the past couple of years my supplies have built up lol.

here's some tips for you!
make sure your cake is completely cool before frosting to prevent crumbling. you can even freeze it first (just make sure it unfreezes before you eat it lol!!)
and for smoothing icing evenly, dip your spatula in hot water and it will make the icing smooth a lot easier. what I do sometimes is put the icing in a decorating bag and pipe it all over the cake so all i have to do is go and smooth it out with the spatula :)

hope this helps! and I love your mini deco cake things :) so cute!!!
